In the latter part of his life, he came to view pragmatism as the philosophy of democracy.



Recent pragmatists have developed new areas of research including computational pragmatics (the research of computer systems which use context to better understand the motives of their users) as well as game theory and experimental pragmatics, and neuropragmatics.
